The donor is the author of Mimosa: the life & times of the ship that sailed to Patagonia and its companion volume Mimosa's voyages : official logs, crew lists and masters (Talybont, 2007).

Photocopies relating to the genealogy of Benjamin Williams III whose great grandfather Benjamin Williams (d. 1896) emigrated from Wales in 1853 to the United States and was one of the early Welsh settlers in Middle Granville, New York .

The originals are in the possession of the donor John Iwan Parry Hughes, a descendant of Hugh Hughes, and include photocopies of his family tree and the family crest .

The diary of Captain Samuel Roach (1833-1914), Master Mariner, in manuscript and typescript form, together with copies of probate items and other papers relating to him. Captain Roach was born in St David’s, Pembrokeshire. He bequeathed a thousand pounds in his will towards the building of the Town Hall in his native town, where a plaque in his memory is seen to this day.
