The political diaries of Lord Roberts of Conwy from 1970 to 1996 divided into 18 volumes. The diaries cover most of Lord Roberts' time as Member of Parliament for Conwy and his entire career at the Welsh Office and include letters, newpaper cuttings and pictures added by Lord Roberts. Many subject are covered including the establishment of S4C, Welsh language legislation, inward investment, the Falklands War, the Gulf War, Northern Ireland, the bombing of the Conservative Party conference in Brighton by the IRA in 1984, general elections and the European Union.

Morgan Humphreys' great-grandfather, the Rev Richard Humphreys, and of his grandfather, the Rev Edward Morgan, [1800]x1953; articles, radio scripts and addresses by E. The papers, 1960-2003, reflect Councillor Ray Davies's life and the political campaigns and activities in which he was involved. Many are cuttings from local and national newspapers and other printed items. Some of the material reflects his campaigns in various elections, others the movements which he supported and in which he participated. A large number relate to the campaign against the community charge in the 1980s and 1990s. A few stem from his personal and family life.

Three lots of Councillor Ray Davies'r papers were received, 2006-2008. These remain uncatalogued.

Papers of the Aberystwyth "No Assembly" Campaign, 1975-1981, including correspondence, 1975-1981; pamphlets, leaflets, circular letters, stickers, 1976-1979; financial records, 1978-1979; press releases, 1978-1979 and press cuttings, 1975-1979.

Comprises letters, 1957-1997, to John Morris, mainly of political interest. Many of the letters are from John Morris's Aberavon constituents. In some cases there are copies of his replies and/or drafts of his replies, prepared to be typed up by a secretary. The letters cover a wide range of subjects, mainly governmental affairs and the work of various governmental ministries and departments, above all the Welsh Office. Many letters concern the Labour Party, its various committees and its internal affairs. Many of the letters are from constituents who make enquiries and refer problems and difficulties to their Member of Parliament. Some also concern the framing and implementation of various pieces of legislation. There are also many subject files, 1951-1995, divided into British subjects, Welsh affairs, many of these concerning devolution, and constituency matters. The subject files relating to British politics nationally include material on a wide range of subjects including defence, disarmament, education, the EEC, parliamentary elections, the environment, foreign affairs, housing, the Labour Party, leasehold reform, local government, pensions, the steel industry, transport, and specific pieces of parliamentary legislation. The files on Welsh affairs include material on the Welsh Office, the Labour Party Wales, the Crowther/Kilbrandon Commission and devolution, the Development Corporation for Wales, and the Welsh language. Thirdly, there is a group of printed, typescript and manuscript materials and diaries, 1943-1991. A further file, being Lord Morris's earliest drafts of the chapter on Kosovo (chapter 21), for inclusion in his book 'Fifty Years in Politics and the Law', published in 2011, was received in Februay 2013. This file is under Embargo during the lifetime of the donor. Further donations of material were made in Augist 2015 and August 2015. These remain uncatalogued although photographs have been transferred to photo albums and videocasettes, sound cassettes and DVDs have been transferred to the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales.

Edwards, 1929-1970, and carbon copies of letters sent by him, 1945-1969, concerning politics, literature, and the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire, including letters to and from political figures in the Labour Party and Plaid Cymru, and Welsh literary figures; pocket diaries, 1929-1968; minute books of the North Wales Labour Federation, 1923-1930; reports and memoranda concerning the activities of the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire, political life in North Wales, and the activities of TWW, 1935-1966; press cuttings relating to Edwards' political career and the activities of the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire, 1930-1968; illuminated addresses and distinctions presented to him, 1933-1969; miscellaneous printed items, 1912-1967; poems by him, 1950-1958; and other personal papers, 1926-1967; and acquired papers, notably letters from Sir Owen M. Papers, 1966-2001, relating to the Newport West Labour Party; the Newport County Borough Council Labour Group; the Manufacturing, Science and Finance Union (MSF), Newport 9909 Branch; the South East Wales European Constituency Labour Party, and various election campaigns, including correspondence, minutes, financial records, reports and material relating to election campaigns.

An additional file of letters, 1956-1957, and printed leaflets etc., 2005-2006, relating to the Labour Party's activities in Newport West constituency were received. This group remains uncatalogued.

The collection consists of papers relating to the Interim Federal Policy Committee, 1988-1989, the Association of Social and Liberal Democrat Councillors, 1988-1991, the Federal Executive of the SLD, 1990, copies of the Federal Green Papers, 1988, the Social and Liberal Democrats, 1986-1989, the Welsh Liberal Democrats, 1987-1991, the formation of the Social and Liberal Democrtas, 1988, the Brecon and Radnor Liberal Democrats, 1988-1990, local elections, 1988-1991, and application forms of prospective parliamentary candidates, c. 1988-1991.

Papers, 1886-1968, of the Lloyd George family. The collection is comprised mainly of correspondence, the bulk of which is addressed to David Lloyd George, mostly from contemporary political figures and from members of his family. The political correspondence relates largely to Welsh affairs, including Disestablishment, the Welsh Church Commission, education and the investiture of the Prince of Wales in 1911, as well as to the Irish Question and the First World War. David Lloyd George's family correspondence includes letters, [c. 1886]-1941, between David Lloyd George and his wife Margaret, from David Lloyd George to his uncle Richard Lloyd, 1890-1916, and to David Lloyd George from his brother William George, 1891-1915; other family correspondence includes letters to Margaret Lloyd George, 1893-1939, from various correspondents, and from Margaret Lloyd George mainly to her daughter Olwen Carey-Evans, 1917-1939; correspondence and papers of Megan Lloyd George, daughter of David and Margaret Lloyd George, including letters, 1939-1957, to and from Labour politician Philip Noel-Baker and from other correspondents, 1910-1966, including her parents, together with a tour journal, 1923-1924, and diary, 1947, and correspondence and papers, 1914-[c. 1963], of Gwilym Lloyd George, son of David and Margaret Lloyd George, including a typescript draft, [c. 1960]-1962, of his (unpublished) autobiography; together with speech notes, notebooks and miscellaneous papers, [c. 1904]-1939, of David Lloyd George, and correspondence and papers, 1898-1909, relating to Mair Eluned Lloyd George, daughter of David and Margaret Lloyd George.

The fonds comprises letters, 1928-1999, to Lady White, diaries, 1936-1984, papers, 1907-1994, reflecting her career as a Labour politician, papers, 1859-1994, concerning her outside interests and activities, records, 1950-1996, deriving from Lady White's involvement in Welsh political and public life, and material, 1960-1990, concerning her activities in educational matters. There are also family papers, 1892-1992, including some relating to Lady White's father Dr Thomas Jones CH (1870-1955) and to her husband John Cameron White (1911-1968). There is also a substantial group of press cuttings and other printed material, 1919-1997. A further two boxes of papers were received in January 2007; this group remains uncatalogued.
