Warrant to deliver a stag from the Forest of Snowdon

Warrant, dated at Shrewsbury, 4 July [1554], from Sir Robert Townshend, Justice of Chester, to the Master of the Game of the Forest of Snowdon, requiring him to deliver to the bearer 'one Stagge of this Season' for the provisioning of the Council in the Marches of Wales. As Justice of Chester, Townshend was de facto vice-president of the Council (f. 4).
