Morgan Watkin’s (1909) copy of ‘The Black Book of Carmarthen’ reproduced and edited by J. Gwenogvryn Evans (Pwllheli, 1906) and ‘The Text of the Book of Llan Dâv reproduced from the Gwysaney Manuscript’ by J. Gwenogvryn Evans (Oxford, 1893); both with marginal notes in the hand of Morgan Watkin.

Brittany

The original folder is labelled “Yr ymweliad â Llydaw. La visite en Bretagne”, containing letters and papers relating to the work of the National Eisteddfod Council and Undeb Cymru Fydd Joint Committee on Brittany, including a draft report of the visit by the deputation to Brittany.

French Civilisation in the Mabinogion

Typescript draft copies with corrections of parts of a possible unpublished work by Morgan Watkin, entitled ‘French Civilisation in the Mabinogion (The Dream of Rhonabwy, The Four Branches, The Dream of Macsen Wledig, Lludd and Llevelys, Kulhwch and Olwen): A Contribution to Comparative Mediaeval Literature’. The introduction, The Four Branches of the Mabinogi, The Dream of Macsen Wledig, and Kulhwch and Olwen are the only extant parts, some numbered as copies 1, 2 or 3.
