[First performed at the National Eisteddfod at Ystradgynlais by the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Jones, 6 August 1954]. Presentation copy, 'To Charles Groves with admiration and affection from Daniel Jones, 27th April 1957'. A note by Charles Groves in pencil appears opposite page 1, 'in a letter from the composer dated 5.11.72 many alterations of tempo were suggested. These I have added in pencil. C.G. 21.ii.72'.
