A pamphlet entitled Open Letter to Keir Hardie MP, by W. F. Phillips, which originally appeared as a series of articles in Llais Llafur during August and September 1911. The articles were re-printed, in English, in connection with proceedings for libel instituted by Mr Phillips against the editor and publisher of Llais Llafur because of comments printed in the newspaper about his articles; together with a paper by Principal David Salmon entitled The Welsh Education Commission 1846-7: A Retrospect, undated.

Bound typescript copies and two prefatory memoranda of reports on housing and social conditions in Aberavon and Port Talbot, Merthyr Tydfil, Neath, Newport, the Rhondda and the Swansea Valley. These 'Urban Investigation' reports were compiled by Chappell during his work with Herbert Stanley Jevons on economic conditions in south Wales.

Correspondence relating to the National Library's failure to record the work which Daniel Lleufer Thomas had done for the Library over the years in its 'Coming of Age Celebration' publications of 1930. Among the correspondents are David Davies, Llandinam, W. Llewelyn Davies and J. Herbert Lewis. There are also letters concerning Lleufer Thomas's re-appointment to the Library's Court of Governors and to the Council in 1937.
