Ganwyd William H. Griffiths (Llinos Wyre, 1851-1931) yn Lledrod, Ceredigion. Roedd ei dad Daniel Griffiths, Bwlch-y-Graig, yn saer coed a dilynodd William yr un yrfa. Symudodd i Lundain i fyw yn ddyn ifanc, a bu farw yn Harrow, Tachwedd 1931. Daeth ei enw barddol o'r Afon Wyre yn Lledrod. Cyhoeddwyd ei waith barddonol cynnar yn Ceinion Wyre, mewn pedair rhan (tua 1894-1899).
