Prof. John Fraser (1882-1945) was born in Inverness, Scotland, and was educated at the Universities of Aberdeen, Cambridge and Jena. He was Sir John Rhys's successor at Jesus College as Professor of Celtic at the University of Oxford from 1921 until his death in 1945. He was the editor of E. C. Quiggin, Poems from the Book of the Dean of Lismore ... (Cambridge, 1937).
