General Election speeches

Typed speeches given by Leanne Wood during the 2001 General Election Campaign including a speech at the public hustings, NUM Club (29 May 2001), a speech for Teify House, Maerdy (6 March 2001), typed and handwritten notes for an unspecified speech, typed speech to pensioners groups at Pontygwaith (13 March 2001), and a speech for a public meeting at the Parc and Dare theatre (22 January 2001).

Electoral papers

The series comprises mainly electoral ephemera, letters, minutes and information relating to General, European, County Council and Assembly Elections with which the Rev. Roger Roberts was involved, especially the Liberal Party in the Conwy Parliamentary Constituency, 1950-1999. Files 1/8-1/15 comprise election ephemera, mostly from north Wales and several political parties 1945-2015.

Sub fond contains election campaign material produced by the S. D. P./Liberal Alliance and Welsh Liberal Democrats for elections to South Glamorgan County Council, Cardiff City Council, Cardiff County Council, UK General Elections, by-elections, elections to the National Assembly for Wales and the European Parliament as well as Focus local community newsletters distributed in the Cardiff area.

The group consists of material relating to Communist Party election campaigns in Britain, but mainly in Wales, including election manifestos, 1964-1987, elections results, 1945-1995, files relating to election campaign arrangements, 1934-1987, electoral reform, 1964-1996, general election leaflets, 1935-1989, and local election leaflets, 1946-1992.

Elections

The group consists of material published by the main political parties in general election campaigns, 1970-1997; papers relating mainly to the Labour Party campaigns in Welsh by-elections, 1985-1995; local government elections in Wales, 1987-1993; and the European elections in the Welsh constituencies, 1984-1994.

Election to the European Parliament

File contains material relating to the elections to the European Parliament in 1994 including, a copy of the Liberal Democrat manifesto "Making Europe work for us", internal party correspondence, leaflet drafts, a document for candidates entitled "Dealing with attacks in the 1994 European election", press releases, leaflets, posters, guides for candidates and a copy of the Welsh Liberal Democrats manifesto "Unlocking the potential of Wales".

Election to the European Parliament

File contains materiel distributed across Wales by the Liberal Democrats in the campaign for the election to the European Parliament in 1989, including leaflets, leaflet templates, press releases and newspaper articles.

Election papers

Contains various papers, 1964-1984 (but mainly 1980-1983), relating mainly to the candidatures of Councillor Ray Davies and others in local, parliamentary and European elections. They include election addresses and leaflets, circulars, posters and flyers, and numerous press cuttings, together with a small quantity of correspondence and two photographs. The correspondents include Barry Moore, 1983, John Silkin, 1983, and George Wright, TGWU, 1983.

Assembly Election Campaign

Papers relating to Plaid Cymru's campaign for the 2016 election to the National Assembly for Wales including a copy of Welsh Nation, preparation and notes for the campaign launch and papers relating to the New Wales Alliance electoral pact.

2019 Euro Election

File comprises election addresses and assorted papers circulated in the Wales electoral region during the campaign for the European Parliament elections in 2019. Arrangements to hold the election were made at the last minute as the UK had been due to leave the EU at the end of Marh 2019 and two new parties. the Brexit Party and Change UK - The Independent Group joined the established parties in fighting the election. File also includes some material circulated in England for the elections.
