360 ff. (foliated i-xv, 1-309 with many unnumbered interleaved folios; ff. i-vi blank) ; 285 x 190 mm. Half-vellum and marbled paper over boards; '[30]6' (?nineteenth-century label on spine); '8' (in pencil on front cover); page edges stained in red. Marble-covered boards damaged by water; leaves affected by damp thoughout.

The volume was among the manuscripts deposited at NLW by Dr Llewelyn ap Ivan Davies in 1944; the deposit was converted into a donation in 1966. The manuscript was transferred to the NLW MSS series in 2005.

The volume forms the second part, with a separate dated title page and pagination, of the author's Critica Sacra in Two Parts…, 3rd edn (London: Printed by Abraham Miller and Roger Daniel for Thomas Underhill, 1650, ESTC R11616 / Wing L991). Latin glosses in black ink throughout, in a hand of the second half of the seventeenth century, are mostly cross-references to the works of Hugo Grotius. The watermark 'PRO' on blank leaves (not in Churchill) is similar to others of the second half of the seventeenth century.
