Biographical history
In 2000 Clifford McLucas was commissioned to create a work for the Oerol Festival in the island of Terschelling. The inital plan was to create a deep map of the island, following 13 lines, however due to budget constraints it was decided to concentrate on one line, and the work was called 'Earste Dagen: The First Line'. He later returned to Terschelling to develop the project further, under the title 'Earste Dagen - the Thirteen Lines: Line Eight, Part Two'.
