Contains correspondence between the Coal Owners Association, the Mining Association of Great Britain, and H.M. Inspector of Mines regarding the provisions of the Eight Hours Act in mines entered by drifts and slopes. Also contains copies of the Code of Regulations drafted by the Home Office, and correspondence concerning deputations to the Home Secretary, a committee set up by the Association to discuss drifts and slopes with H.M. Inspector of Mines, and a strike which occurred at the Glenavon Garw Collieries, Rhondda.
