Deeds, 1728-1825, relating to properties in the parish of Llywel, Brecknockshire.

The fonds comprises letters, 1928-1999, to Lady White, diaries, 1936-1984, papers, 1907-1994, reflecting her career as a Labour politician, papers, 1859-1994, concerning her outside interests and activities, records, 1950-1996, deriving from Lady White's involvement in Welsh political and public life, and material, 1960-1990, concerning her activities in educational matters. There are also family papers, 1892-1992, including some relating to Lady White's father Dr Thomas Jones CH (1870-1955) and to her husband John Cameron White (1911-1968). There is also a substantial group of press cuttings and other printed material, 1919-1997. A further two boxes of papers were received in January 2007; this group remains uncatalogued.

E.H.T. Bible's natural history diaries, recording sightings of birds, mammals, sea creatures, insects and plants, mainly in and around Aberdyfi, Wales, with notes on location, species, identification, habits, migration patterns and weather conditions. Names of species are often underlined in red ink. Instances of dead animals, egg collecting, fur dealing, trapping and shooting are recorded, and the need for protection acknowledged. The observations of others are frequently noted, including Dr J.H. Salter and Miall Jones, both of Aberystwyth, Wales, and Mary Richards of Dolgellau, Wales. There are touches of humour in Bible's descriptions of encounters with animals and people. Gardening activities are noted in the later diaries, and, from 1943, rainfall records are kept. Most of the diaries are labelled 'Fair Copy', but the series includes two small notebooks containing draft versions.

Additional material, donated December 2021, comprises a printed volume: 'Llyvyr Taliessin ... The Text of the Book of Taliesin' (ed. J. Gwenogvryn Evans (1910)) inscribed to and annotated by Egerton Phillimore; a postcard note addressed to Egerton Phillimore from minister, academic and lexicographer Daniel Silvan Evans relating to place-names referenced in the Book of Taliesin; and a newspaper cutting, 17 August 1916, containing a review of Llyvyr Taliessin.

A collection mainly of Pembrokeshire interest and including material relating to Tenby and Haverfordwest; correspondence, estate accounts and miscellaneous papers of Charles Francis Egerton Allen (1847-1927); papers of the Barlow family of Slebech; a copy, in five parts, of Edward Laws: The History of Little England beyond Wales; etc.

Papers, [c. 1650]-1828, relating to estates and lordships in Carmarthenshire, including rentals of the Golden Grove estate and of the lordship of Cydweli, and an order-book of the borough of Llanelli; together with miscellaneous papers, 1746-1909, relating to the Williams and Drummond Williams family of Edwinsford, Carmarthenshire, comprising mainly correspondence and army commissions; and letter-books, 1807-1833, of Jacob Richards of Tenby, Pembrokeshire, mainly relating to business and estate matters, including Richards's investments in India. The relationship, if any, between NLW MSS 22870-22871 - those papers relating to the Williams family and to Jacob Richards - and the rest of the collection has not been established.

Morgan Humphreys, from several prominent Welsh figures, 1900x1955, relating to professional matters, such as his articles and contributions to newspapers, requests for articles, radio talks, addresses, literary works, public appointments, his involvement with the eisteddfod and various committees; together with some letters relating to personal affairs, politics and literary matters and letters written to him in his role as an editor; miscellaneous and family ('Dyffryn') correspondence, which are mostly letters of the families of E. Morgan Humphreys' great-grandfather, the Rev Richard Humphreys, and of his grandfather, the Rev Edward Morgan, [1800]x1953; articles, radio scripts and addresses by E. Morgan Humphreys, 1902x1955; together with some personal and family papers, 1841x1955; articles, poetry, adjudications and letters to the editor of Y Genedl etc., by T.
