Hywel I. Evans: Welsh Schools Curriculum Records

The fonds comprises records, 1983-1993, relating to the implementation of the national curriculum in England and Wales pursuant to the provisions of the 1988 Education Reform Act. The records were accumulated by Hywel I. Evans as chair of the Curriculum Council for Wales, and as a member of other committees which were responsible for the implementation of the national curriculum in Wales and England.

Seventy-seven pocket diaries of the Rev. Hugh (Cernyw) Williams (Hywel Cernyw, 1843-1937), Baptist minister at Corwen and Cynwyd, 1868-1918, writer and poet. The diaries form an unbroken run from 1860 to 1936 apart from 1878 for which there is no diary; in addition to the 1891 diary, there is a journal of a holiday at Harrogate and Southport, 17 June-20 July 1891 (NLW MS 22585A). Entries from 1864 onwards are mostly in English.
The diaries contain references to Robert Ellis (Cynddelw) (NLW MSS 22557-22574A passim).
