Valuation of Mather Parkes & Co. leadworks, Bagillt
Manuscript valuation, dated 8 January 1828, of the Mather Parkes & Co. leadworks in Bagillt, Flintshire (ff. 1-6, rectos only). It was compiled by one Robert Daglish (see f. 6), who is possibly the engineer Robert Daglish (1779-1865) or his son Robert (1809-1883).
The valuation lists 116 items, including two steam engines, rolls and tables in the rolling mills, weighing machinery, three large smelting furnaces and new buildings, together with many smaller items of equipment and piping. The firm of Messrs Mather Parkes & Co., which was based in Liverpool, had been dissolved in July 1827; it is unclear which of the several leadworks in Bagillt was operated by the company.
