Manuscripts of, or belonging to, William Floyd, who spent many years at the Public Record Office (he applied for a ticket as from Bridgend, Glamorgan in 1856) and in the British Museum engaged in research in the various types of records relating to the history of England and Wales preserved in those two institutions. With a few exceptions, most of which are described at the beginning of the collection, all the volumes are Floyd's notebooks and memoranda books.
