Album of Dr Robert Owen Morris (1859-1943), comprised mainly of material relating to his year of office as Mayor of Birkenhead, 1902-3. Included are over one hundred and fifty congratulatory and other letters, in English and Welsh, from various correspondents including Arthur James Balfour (2), David Lloyd George (2) and Sir Edward Russell (1); printed cards and programmes; and press cuttings.

Rowland Hughes and others: 'From Saint's day to Saint's day', 1935, 'Old King Cole', 1936 and 'Steel song', 1939.

Manuscript pencil sketch, [1965], of Alun Hoddinott's 'Dives and Lazarus', a cantata for soprano and baritone soloists, choir and orchestra, with words written and adapted by Gwynno James.
The work was commissioned for the 1965 Farnham Festival and first performed on 20 May 1965. Also included is a manuscript copy of the words [?in the hand of Gwynno James] (ff. ii-iii) and a letter from Hoddinott to Felix Aprahamian, [28] March 1966 (f. i).

Papers, [1790]-1921, of and collected by Benjamin Piercy and his estate, relating to civil engineering projects and to the Piercy estate in Flintshire and Denbighshire. They include copies of plans of the following railways: the Wrexham, Mold and Connah's Quay; the Whitchurch, Wrexham and Mold; the Flintshire, Oswestry and Newtown; the Oswestry and Llangynog; the Denbighshire and Shropshire; the North Wales and Birkenhead; the Birkenhead, North Wales and Stafford; the Porthdinlleyn; and the Llangammarch and Neath. There is also a large number of working plans of railways in north-east Wales, particularly those for which Benjamin Piercy was engineer, as well as collections of Acts of Parliament relating to railways in England and Wales, bills, minutes of evidence, speeches, petitions and reports of Railway Commissions. The archive also includes a volume of Acts of Parliament relating to the navigation and conservancy of the river Dee, some Acts relating to north Wales waterworks, copies of correspondence, 1881-1885, between Benjamin Piercy and Henry Robertson of Pale, and minute books, 1888-1920, of the Piercy Trustees, and papers and deeds of Benjamin Piercy's estate mainly in Wrexham, and Marchwiel parish, 1881-1921.

Correspondence between the donor Rosemary Markham and Peter Prendergast, Kyffin Williams, Jonah Jones, Martin Tinney and others relating to an appeal for the donation of artworks towards the exhibition 'Art for Mercy' at the Washington Gallery, Penarth, 22-24 November 2002, to raise funds for Tearfund, together with minutes of the organising committee and exhibition and auction catalogue. Also included is a letter (in Welsh), 2008, to the donor from David T. Jones, Jonah Jones's son, relating to the project 'Cofio Jonah Jones'.

Seven letters, 1854, from the botanist William Pamplin (1806-99), later of Llandderfel, to his first wife Caroline (née Hunneman), while he was on a walking tour of North Wales with his friend Alexander Irvine (1793-1873), together with botanical notes, 1855, by Pamplin; also included are printed articles, 1899 and 1937, relating to him.

A group of fifty-four holograph letters, 1929-1932, from Thomas Jones, Cerrigellgwm[-isa], Ysbyty Ifan, Denbighshire, to Evan Roberts, Llandderfel, Merioneth, relating to the writer's literary and musical pursuits. Some letters refer to the Welsh ancestry of Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States of America. Also included in the collection is a holograph letter, 15 November, 1932, from Einion Jones, Cerrigellgwm-isa, to Evan Roberts, enclosing a pedigree of his father Thomas Jones and a copy of the latter's last poem.

A holograph letter from Henry M[orton] Stanley to [John] Griffith ('Y Gohebydd'), 1872, and a holograph letter from the latter to [Thomas] Gee, Denbigh, 1872 (Stanley's reluctance to allow the Welsh press to refer to his Welsh descent); and a holograph letter from Thomas Gee to Robert Griffith, bookseller, Caernarvon, 1840 (the loan of a hymnbook to the Reverend John Jones, Tal-sarn).

Papers and photographs, 1988-1990, relating to the design and construction of the cope for the Archbishop of Wales, The Most Reverend the Lord Archbishop George Noakes, made by members of Monmouth Diocesan Guild of Church Needlework.
