Photocopies of two press cuttings relating to the Welsh singer Leila Megane (Margaret/Maggie Jones, 1891-1960), wife of the composer T. Osborne Roberts (1879-1948), purchased with NLW MSS 15281-310 in February 1980 (see Annual Report 1979-80, p. 63), one showing her congratulating the winner of the Osborne Roberts prize at the National Eisteddfod at Ebbw Vale, 1958, and the other an undated cutting in Italian giving an account of the welcome concert arranged for the Prince of Wales at Rome which included a performance by Leila Megane.

Two volumes bearing the title 'Amryw ysgrifau' by the Reverend L. Rheidol Davies (1872-1952) containing press cuttings, 1937-51, of articles, which appeared in Y Llan, Yr Haul a Y Cyfaill Eglwysig; together with a few in his hand. He was Vicar at Llandeilo'r-fân and Llanfihangel Nant Brân, Breconshire, 1928-43; he travelled extensively and included are articles which he wrote about his visits to Ireland, Norway, America, Italy, Greece, Brittany, Switzerland and Egypt, together with some photographs. He edited a volume of poems by Thomas Daniel ('Pabellwyson'), Tannau byrion Pabellwyson (Cardiff, 1930) which includes an article by the editor on the characteristics of France and Spain, and included are cuttings of the poems.

The Pand-namah or Book of Counsels by Sa'di of Shiraz (full name Musharrif ul-Din Muslih ibn'Abd Ullah) (d. 1291). Written in Nasta'liq, lapsing in places, especially in the margins, into Shikastah. Two columns to a page divided into four oblong compartments of irregular size. Headpiece and four illustrations in gold and colours. Borders and spaces between the lines in gold. Headings in red.

Soldier's diary

A transcript, [mid 20 cent.], of the diary, 26 July 1914-22 April 1916, of a soldier from Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, serving with the Royal Engineers in the First World War, including a record of his experiences on active service in the Dardanelles.
On the basis of information supplied by Mr Gwyn Jenkins, Talybont, January 2012, the writer of the diary has been identified as Hubert Cole, a Sapper with the 1st Welsh Field Company Royal Engineers. He married Kate Eveline Webb at St Luke's Bayswater on 1 November 1914.
