History

Sefydlwyd y Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol gan Lywodraeth Cymru yn 2011 i weithio gyda phrifysgolion Cymru er mwyn datblygu cyrsiau Cymraeg ac adnoddau ar gyfer myfyrwyr. Mae'n gwneud hyn drwy weithio drwy nifer o ganghennau ar draws prifysgolion yng Nghymru, sy'n cefnogi gwaith y Coleg ac yn gweithredu fel pwynt cyswllt i fyfyrwyr. Ers sefydlu mae'r Coleg wedi ariannu darlithwyr sy'n addysgu trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg mewn amrywiaeth o feysydd gan gynnwys Busnes, y Gyfraith, Ieithoedd Modern, Gwyddorau Cymdeithasol a Biowyddorau, ymhlith eraill. Mae'r Coleg yn elusen gydnabyddedig ac yn cael ei bencadlys yng Nghaerfyrddin. Y Prif Weithredwr yw Dr. Ioan Matthews, a Chadeirydd yw Andrew Green.

The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol (Welsh National College) was established by the Welsh Government in 2011 to work with Welsh universities in order to develop Welsh-language courses and resources for students. It does this by working through numerous branches across universities in Wales, which support the work of the Coleg and act as a point of contact for students. Since its foundation the Coleg has funded lecturers who teach through the medium of Welsh in a variety of fields including Business, Law, Modern Languages, Social Sciences and Biosciences, amongst others. The Coleg is a recognised charity and is headquartered in Carmarthen. The Chief Executive is Dr. Ioan Matthews and the Chair is Andrew Green.
