A notebook in the hand of 'R. Lloyd, Bala College, 1873' (aft. of Llangristiolus), containing extracts from Hans Lassen Martenson: Christian Dogmatics (1865, etc.), and a synopsis in English of Griffith Williams (Talsarnau): Yr Hynod William Ellis, Maentwrog [1875]. Blank leaves at the end of the volume have been used to record a sale of household effects.

A group of papers of R. A. Jones, Beaumaris, 1919-1928, including holograph letters, receipts, and manuscript, typescript, and printed minutes, circulars, rules, etc. relating to the North Wales Temperance Federation and the North Wales Union of Evengelical Churches. The correspondents include J. Glyn Davies, 1927 and J. Talwrn Jones. The group also includes a letter, 1919, from D. J. Davies, Caernarvon to the Reverend H. P. Roberts, Beaumaris, relating to the rental of a room at Beaumaris for a tent of the Independent Order of Rechabites.

A typescript copy, with footnotes by W. Gilbert Williams, Rhostryfan, of an incomplete essay by John Williams, Tyddyn Gwian, Bwlch y Llyn, on the early history of Cesarea, Llandwrog Uchaf, Caernarvonshire, being the winning essay at a literary and musical festival ('Cylchwyl Lenyddol a Cherddorol') held at Cesarea on 10-11 April, 1908.

A group of poetry and miscellaneous papers from the collection of, and partly in the autograph, of David Griffith (Clwydfardd). They include englynon by Clwydfardd, e.g. 'Ar ymweliad ei rasusolaf Fawrhydi Tywysog Cymru an gwyl Genedlaethol yn Nghaernarfon Gorphenaf [1894]'; 'Ir diweddar barchedig Edward Anwyl Cadeirydd y Dalaith Ogleddol', etc.; englynion addressed to Clwydfardd by Richard Parry (Gwalchmai) and John Cadvan Davies (Cadvan) (1891); copies of the proclamations of meetings of Gorsedd Beirdd Ynys Prydain at national and provincial eisteddfodau; a letter, [c. 1891], from Clwydfardd to B. Morris Lewis, Chelsea, giving particulars of nineteenth century national and other eisteddfodau; notes on the key to 'Coelbren y Beirdd', etc., by T. H. Thomas (Arlunydd Penygarn); incomplete notes on the Epistle to the Hebrews; and an incomplete eulogy of the writing pen, 1872.

A printed bidding letter, December, 1837, of Ann Smith, daughter of Richard and Ann Smith of Wigfa, parish of Kiillybebill, and a notebook containing a list of donations 'bestowed' (or 'conferred') or 'repaid' at the bidding on 12-13 January, 1838. At the end of the volume is an inventory of the estate and effects of the late Richard Smith of Wigfa, 8 November. 1869, and undated accounts of payments to Edmund Davies, mason, and others.

'Welsh Lyrics', being the original manuscript of a review by Robert Arthur Griffith ('Elphin'), published in The Arvonian, April, 1901, of R. Silyn Roberts and W. J. Gruffydd: Telynegion (Bangor, 1900). The greater part of the review is written on the dorse of leaflets entitled 'Cyngrair Cymru Fydd. Sut i ffurfio cangenau'.

A volume of 'Notes on Practical Artillery', with diagrams, compiled in 1856 by Major-General R. O. Jones, Bryntegid, Bala.

A typescript volume of two hundred and thirty-six hymns composed by the Reverend Howell Elvet Lewis ('Elfed'), pastor of King's Cross Welsh Congregational Church, London; together with an index of first lines. The collection, compiled and bound by the Reverend J. Seymour Rees, Seven Sisters, Neath, is classified into (a) general hymns, (b) translations and adaptations, (c) hymns for children, and (d) translations and adaptations for children.

A notebook of William Jones ('Gwilym o Feirion'), Glyndyfrdwy, containing recollections of a baptismal service at Glyndyfrdwy Baptist Church, 1854; a catechism entitled 'Holwyddoreg ar Deyrnasiad Crist' transcribed by William Jones, 4 September, 1853, from Athraw i Blentyn, Hydref, 1838; lists of preachers and of the texts of their sermons at Glyndyfrdwy Baptist Church, 6 March, 1853-10 December, 1854; accounts by William Jones of anniversary services of Glyndyfrdwy Baptist Church, 1853-1854; and a paper, in a different hand, on 'Balchder'.

A volume of pedigrees of Monmouthshire and Herefordshire and some other families transcribed, with an index of places, in 1904 by John Hobson Matthews ('Mab Cernyw'), Monmouth, from 'Llyfr Baglan'. The original volume was compiled during the years 1600-1607; it was to be edited in full by Joseph Alfred Bradney under the title of Llyfr Baglan or the Book of Baglan (London, 1910).

Four autograph letters, [?1840]-1841, from [Sir] John S[alusbury] P[iozzi] Salusbury, adopted son of Gabriel and Hester Lynch Piozzi, to the Rev. Thomas Raffles, Liverpool, mainly concerned with the exhibiting of Raffles' collection of autographs by the [Liverpool] Royal Institution (ff. 2-3).
Salusbury also refers, 9 December 1841, to [the Rev. Thomas] Pennant, son of Thomas Pennant of Downing and Salusbury's tenant at Brynbella (f. 4).

An abstract of title (1774-1780) to the manor of Bradley, co. Stafford, and to properties in Bradley late belonging to John Wilkinson, esq., ironmaster, of Bilston, Bersham, etc.; and an abstract of the will and codicils of John Wilkinson (proved 1808), and subsequent title (1806-1828) to the same properties. Both abstracts were compiled circa 1830.

A volume containing translations into English of Latin and Greek poems by George Herbert, viz. 'Parentalia', 'An Apology on behalf of a Suppliant amongst the Evangelical Ministers in England, addressed to His Most Serene Majesty against the Bewitched Gorgon of the Two Universities or the Anti-Tami-Cami-Categoria ...', 'Epigrams in Defence of the Discipline of our Church', 'The Inventions of War', and 'Other Latin Poems' (incomplete). Inset are transcripts of six sonnets, e.g. '... on the statue at Florenze of Lorenzo Duke of Milan, sculptured by Michel Angelo', 'Written on the lake of Albano', etc.

Two account books of John Davies, auctioneer, of Talley, Carmarthenshire, 1853-1858, and an account book of Thomas Griffiths, Penrhiwgeingen, Talley, and John Davies, 1862-1865, containing accounts with individual purchasers at specified local sales, e.g. of timber at Pwllfa and Cwmgelynyn, parish of Caeo, and at Maes-pwll, parish of Pencarreg.

Records relating to the Tylorstown Explosion (January, 1896) Trust Fund, 1896-1936, consisting of a minute book of the yearly, half-yearly, and special meetings of the executive committee (NLW MS 10788E), accounts (NLW MSS 10789-10791E), bank books (NLW MSS 10792-10794A), official correspondence (NLW MS 10795E), and miscellaneous papers, including receipts for allowances, cashed cheques, and the original trust deed dated 18 May, 1896 (NLW MS 10796C).

A composite volume containing precedents in the form of copies of grants, letters patent, warrants, etc., Elizabeth-Charles II, relating to bishoprics, deaneries, officers of the royal household, etc. (e.g. congé d'elire, letter recommendatory to elect a bishop, oath of allegiance for a bishop's homage, instalment of first fruits of a bishopric, commendams, presentations, grants to royal musicians, grants of annuities and pensions, grants of offices, baronet's patent, dispensations, directions from the signet, indentures, etc., etc.); a brief account, in French, of the Portuguese revolution of 1 December, 1640; a report, in reply to a questionnaire, on the length, depth, security, etc., of His Majesty's mole at Tangier, written on board H.M.S. the Mountagne, 13 October, 1683; pedigrees of the royal house of Portugal; forms of addresses used by the King to his subjects; styles of noblemen and otehrs; lists of cathedral churches and of their prebends; dedications of cathedral churches, etc.

Some one hundred and seventy-five original poems by Ruth Bidgood, 1966-2011, mostly typescript, some are emended and a few are in manuscript (ff. 208, 212, 214, 216-217, 219).
The majority of the poems have appeared in various periodicals, as recorded by the author on the individual folios. A few only have subsequently been published in collections, including 'Cwm Pennant' (ff. 132-133) and 'Encounters with Angels' (ff. 195-201) in Symbols of Plenty (Norwich, 2006), 'Complaints' (ff. 66-71, 187-189) and 'Bringing Home the Bride' (ff. 169-170) in Hearing Voices (Blaenau Ffestiniog, 2008), and a revised version of 'Reading a Landscape' (ff. 177-181) in Time Being (Bridgend, 2009). 'The Zombie-makers' (f. 38) and 'Brianne 1970' (f. 42) were first published in Matthew Jarvis, Ruth Bidgood (Cardiff, 2012), pp. 133-134. There are multiple copies or drafts of some poems, including 'Complaints' (ff. 66-71, 187-189), 'Summerers' (ff. 129, 152), 'Apparition' (ff. 171, 208), 'Reading a Landscape' (ff. 177-181), 'Windblow' (ff. 182, 218-219), 'Elan in Autumn' (ff. 193, 213-217) and 'Looms' (ff. 194, 210). A list of contents (for ff. 1-194) in the hand of the author is ff. i-ii; the order has subsequently been revised by her. Since the author usually disposed of typescripts once the poems had been collected, this volume includes rare examples of her work.

Minute book, 1874-1946, recording Parish Vestry meetings, 1874-1894 (ff. 2-31 verso, English and Welsh), and parish meetings, 1894-1946 (ff. 32 verso-78, English) of Ysgubor-y-coed, Cardiganshire.
Minutes, 1894-1895, of the first few Parish Council meetings are included in the volume (ff. 33 verso-36, 37); these were later copied into the new Parish Council minute book (now NLW MS 16621C). Meetings during the period 1941-1943 relate to a wartime Salvage and Book Drive (ff. 76-77).

Typescript copy of 'The "Dolwyddelen" Family', compiled by R. E. Jones, Wabasha, Minnesota, 1937, being a history of the Jones family of Tanycastell, Dolwyddelan, Caernarfonshire, intended as an introduction to the "Family Wheel" by Edward L. Williams, Wisconsin (now NLW Rolls 73), together with a copy of the Tanycastell pedigree (ff. 13-14), and related typescript notes and verses, 1936, by R. E. Jones (f. 1).

A collection of papers, 1831-1949, relating to John Jones ('Talhaiarn'), accumulated by his great-niece Lilian M. Jones.
They include holograph poems and lyrics in English and Welsh, [1843]-1868, mostly composed, but some copied, by Talhaiarn (ff. 1-24). Also included are fifty-three letters, 1857-1868, from the poet to his niece, Elizabeth Anne Jones, with some holograph poems appended (ff. 25-124); seven letters, 1848-1869, from him to family members and his publisher W. J. Roberts ('Gwilym Cowlyd') (ff. 125-37); four letters, 1869-1870, to his brother Thomas Jones (ff. 147-54), including three from John Thomas ('Pencerdd Gwalia'); a letter, 1870, from John Thomas ('Pencerdd Gwalia') to Elizabeth Jones (ff. 155-6); and three letters, 1939-1940, to Lilian Jones (ff. 157-60). In addition, the file contains various papers relating to Talhaiarn and his family, including the signed title page of his second volume of works, 1862 (f. 161), lists of subscribers to his third volume of works (ff. 163-4), and to the Talhaiarn Annuity Fund, 1864 (ff. 166 verso-167); administrative papers, 1869-1871, relating to his estate (ff. 169-83); press cuttings, 1869-1949 (mainly 1869-1870) (ff. 184-99); and various papers, including a copy of Talhaiarn's 'Gorsedd Prayer' in an unknown hand (f. 205). Among the works by Talhaiarn are the holograph poems to his niece, Elizabeth Anne Jones (ff. 1, 2, 4-8, 23, 42-3), 'The Zephyr and the Rose' (f. 9), 'Diver' (ff. 10-13), 'Psalm' (f. 14-15, 67), and the printed lyrics of 'A part song on the coming of age of William Grenville Williams', Bodelwyddan, 1865 (f. 17). Also included is a cutting of a tribute by Talhaiarn to Sir Joseph Paxton (f. 17 verso).
