Two journals, 1717-1737, and a fragment of a letter-book, 1726-1727, of Sir Erasmus Philipps, fifth baronet, of Picton Castle, Pembrokeshire, containing descriptions of tours in Wales, England, Holland and Germany, entries relating to family and political matters, etc.; and a notebook, 1706-1710, of Erasmus's father, Sir John Philipps, fourth baronet, of Picton Castle, containing details relating to the execution of the will of his brother-in-law, John Shorter.

Papers, 1772-1990, mainly comprising correspondence and papers of George Crawshay of Haughton Castle, Northumberland, which include letters, 1840-1874, from George Crawshay to his mother Louise Crawshay, his wife Eliza, and other family members; letters, 1840-1890, to George Crawshay from political figures, which reflect Crawshay's active political rôle; a journal, 1836-1837, of George Crawshay whilst in Freiburg under the care of a German tutor; miscellaneous papers, [1830s]-1890, of George and Eliza Crawshay; and letters and papers, 1772-1950, of Florence and James Kennedy Esdaile, daughter and son-in-law of George Crawshay.

The collection comprises correspondence and papers, 1982-1998, relating to the activities of the Campaign for a Welsh Assembly, later the Parliament for Wales Campaign. They consist of minutes of meetings, strategy documents, press statements, press releases, discussion documents and press cuttings.

Research papers and family history of Theodore White, 1935-1975, comprising theses on chemical and biochemical subjects, submitted to the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, 1935-1939; reports on the industrial extraction of wood products in India, 1964-1968, and on the Quebracho (tanning product) industry, 1971-1975; offprints of articles from scientific journals; and a copy of the donor's family history, which partly relates to the Rhondda, home of his maternal ancestors, in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
