Papers, ca. 1849-1940, relating to the Barker family of Carmarthen and comprise a transcript, 1818 and 1838, by the Reverend John Crawford Barker of a memoir of his father, the Reverend William Higgs Barker, master of Carmarthen Grammar School, 1767-1796, and vicar of St Peter's, Carmarthen, 1796-1816; and a journal of a tour in Switzerland and Italy, 1863, by the Reverend Alleyne Higgs Barker, vicar of Rickmansworth and grandson of the Reverend William Higgs Barker, with comments, maps, sketches, photographs, related press cuttings, etc. added at a later date.

They include transcripts from Llyfr Coch Asaph; an entry book exhibited at the visitation of Thomas Davies, bishop of St Asaph, 1561; a court book of the manor of Llanelwy, 1475-1489.
