Papers relating to the visit to Newport on Friday 18 Sept. 1908 by the Association of Chambers of Commerce, holding their annual meeing at Cardiff. The papers mainly relate to the invitations and other preparations for the luncheon hosted by Lord Tredegar at the Newport Gymnasium. The papers include programmes for the visit to Newport, a plan of the gymnasium with the proposed arrangement for the luncheon, table plans, invitations, letters of acceptance from delegates, members of the Newport Chamber of Commerce, Newport Corporation and the Newport Harbour Commissioners, and letters of regret from those unable to attend.

A copy of Newport illustrated, the ocean port of the midlands: souvenir of the visit to Newport of the delegates of the Association of Chambers of Commerce (Newport: Williams Press Ltd, East Usk Road, for the Association of Chambers of Commerce of the United Kingdom, Cardiff meetings, Sept. 1908) is at NLW Tredegar P 3/42. This booklet was presented by the Newport Reception Committee to each guest at Lord Tredegar's luncheon, a copy being placed on each chair.
