Archival history
The early records of the National Assembly were the responsibility of the Welsh Assembly Government, 1999-2007. The general administrative files (Welsh Public Records) were presented to the National Assembly for Wales Commission by the Public Records (Presentation of Records) Instrument No. 2010-43 in October 2010. The first transfer of records to the National Library of Wales took place in May 2017.

Scope and content
Papers of the National Assembly for Wales, including Committee Secretariat files. Additional archives, including the records of the Third Assembly, were transferred in March and May 2019. Signed documents commemorating The Silver Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II, the Establishment of the National Assembly for Wales, the opening of the Senedd 1, 2, 3 and 5, and the opening of the Senedd building; May 2024.

All records have been retained except for duplicates which have been removed.
