Photocopies relating to the genealogy of Benjamin Williams III whose great grandfather Benjamin Williams (d. 1896) emigrated from Wales in 1853 to the United States and was one of the early Welsh settlers in Middle Granville, New York .

Records relating mainly to the industrial concerns of the Crawshay family of Cyfarthfa, Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan, [1706]-1878, including letters and letter books of William Crawshay I and II and Robert Crawshay, 1806-1877; cash books, ledgers and bankers drafts, 1834-1888; deeds, [1706]-1885; wills, deeds and miscellaneous material, 1801-1838; balance sheets for ironworks, 1810-1867; will, valuation and probate for William Crawshay II, 1865-1869; shares and bills of exchange, 1870-1878; and Hilston Park estate papers, 1838-1862 and Caversham Park estate papers, 1826-1864. The archive represents the working papers of a major ironworking dynasty.

Scrapbooks containing press cuttings etc., 1900-1982, relating largely to Welsh drama, theatrical activities and popular entertainment in Wales and amongst Welsh communities in English cities, including material on dramatists of Wales, 1932-1953; drama in Wales, 1922-1982; Welsh actors, 1932-1946; theatre cuttings, 1931-1953; fairs, folklore and folk-dancing in Wales, 1936-1938; children's theatre, 1959-1967; Welsh National Theatre, 1900-1978; and information on theatre in Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Greece, Russia, America, and other countries.

A copy of the donor's research on the family of Rowland Rowlands. He married Elizabeth Samuel in the parish of Llanfihangel Ystrad, Ceredigion, in 1830, and later emigrated to Ohio in the USA. Also included are printouts from America Online, 2006, with a biographical note on J. W. Rowlands, 'one of Lima’s leading citizens'.

Ten typescript articles and transcripts, 1973-1984, nearly all written or compiled by Dr Clare Taylor, Aberystwyth.
They comprise: (i) 'America 1851-1852', dated April 1973, a translation by Mari Ellis of the diary of Iorthryn Gwynedd (NLW MS 9521A), with an introduction by Clare Taylor; (ii) 'The Phillipps Manuscript: A Chapter in Early Welsh Migration to the West Indies and to the United States', 1973, a transcript of NLW MS 92B with an introduction by Clare Taylor (the introduction only was published, with the same title, in National Library of Wales Journal, 19.3 (Summer 1976), 243-248); (iii) 'A Description of Trinidad 1881-1882', 1973, a transcript of [?part of] NLW MS 17267D; (iv-vii) 'A Victorian Guide to Wales', 1973 and undated, four volumes containing transcripts from nineteenth-century trade directories of descriptions of individual parishes in Anglesey, Caernarvonshire, Denbighshire and Montgomeryshire; (viii) an article, 1979, entitled 'The Journal of an Absentee Proprietor: Nathaniel Phillips of Slebech', concerning NLW, Slebech Estate Records 4292-4302; (ix) 'Isaac Williams of Cardiganshire – the Christian poet – an introduction to his nature poetry', 1984, an article subsequently published in Transactions of the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion (1986), 115-126; and (x) 'NLW MS 15505 Picton Papers and Letters', [n.d.], consisting of transcripts (and in some cases translations from the Welsh) of letters of Welsh-American interest in NLW MS 15505E, as well as NLW MS 14111D and elsewhere. Items i-iv and viii-ix are photocopied or cyclostyled, while v-vii and x are carbon copies.

Photocopies of an article by W. N. Davis, Dinuba, California, relating to Stephen S. Jones and family who emigrated in 1878 from Cardiganshire to Jackson County, Ohio, together with copies of letters from America and from relations in Wales and poetry entered in a literary meeting in Oak Hill, 1893, together with a copy of an undated photoghraph of Stephen and Anna (Morgan) Jones taken in Jackson.

A copy of a report prepared by William Stepp and Estelle Cremers, 2004, on the house which is situated in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and placed by the Pennsylvania Historical & Musueum Commission on The National Register of Historic Places in 2004. It was built for Welsh Quaker immigrants in 1720.

The couple emigrated from Pontrhydfendigaid to Wisconsin in 1847, together with an English translation.
