An album mainly comprising press cuttings collected mostly by Sir Edward Harris Greathed (1812-1881) whose bookplate is pasted on the inside of the front cover, and chiefly relating to the Indian Mutiny, 1857-1858, the Franco-Prussian War, 1870-1871, the Ashantee War, 1873, and Irish Home Rule, 1890. Also included are plans of the city of Lucknow and of the British forces' positions at the Siege of Delhi; a short manuscript account of Hervey H. Greathed's escape with his wife at the outbreak of the mutiny together with two photographs, 1857, of his grave at Delhi and of the Custom House, Delhi; and a printed memorial to the officers and men of the Royal Naval Brigade who fell at the Siege of Sevastopol, 1854-1855.
