Painter Alan Salisbury was born in Preston and studied at Manchester and Liverpool Colleges of Art and the Royal College of Art, London. He has lived in Wales since 1974, taking an arts lecturing post at the then University of Glamorgan (now the University of South Wales) before leaving to concentrate on his own artistic practice.
