History

The Joint Standing Committee on teaching through the medium of Welsh was an academic committee set up by the University Council in 1969 to make policy decisions on the question of teaching through the medium of Welsh and to consider the practical implementation of that policy. It kept developments under review and ensured that the plans of Aberystwyth and Bangor should be co-ordinated and complimentary. The committee's activities ceased with the establishment of the Board for Welsh Medium Teaching in 1980. It held its last meeting in December of that year.
