After taking leave from you I came to Narayanpore and sent a message to Bije Singh, Zamindar of Sarpanjah, to come to terms with us and vacate the fort of Sarpanjah. Although he had made full preparation to defend the fort, but as he knew that I had the support of the English, he vacated the fort on 4 Safar. We found that the whole parganah has been laid waste and the people were in a wretched state. After establishing my administration there, I came back to Ramnagar on 9th of the above month. I have sent the overdue amounts to the Company treasury on the 16th of the above month
