- David Harry the elder of Porthydy vawre, parish of Llanrian, yeoman;. 2. John Jones of Browdy, gent. [3. Thomas Jones of Browdy, gent., and David Griffith of the parish of St. Davids, yeoman.]. Settlement previous to the marriage between David Harry the younger, the younger son and heir apparent of 1, and Grace Jones, daughter of 2; whereby 1 enfeoffs his messuage in Porthydy-vawr and in the fields thereof and Porthydyvach, Trevatkoone and Trebredith and also the pieces of land in the fields of Porthydyvach called Klyn Sewick, y garre hyr, nhereg firr and Trawsmawr (which last premises stand mortgaged to 1 by Thomas James of Porthydyvach, gent., and Ursula, his wife), and all other lands of 1 all in the parish of Llanrian in the lordship of Dewisland or Pebydyawke, to the use of 1 for life and thereafter David Harry the younger and heirs tail; whereby 1 covenants to maintain the couple and their issue during his life and to assure to them 'the great Presse that nowe standeth in the halle of the howse ... in Porthydyvawr' a basin and ewer, cauldron and 'his great table board' (some further particulars of these latter); covenant by 2 to pay a portion of £30 and 1 to levy a fine of the enfeoffed premises. [3 Are not a party to the indenture but it is to them the feoffment is made.].
