The rentals for Glan-llyn incorporated several other Merioneth estates from 1809 onwards. As well as Glan-llyn itself, they included Branas and other properties formerly belonging to Plas y Ward, together with Rhiwgoch, and parts of Gwydir. Branas in Llandrillo was acquired by Edward Thelwall of Plas y Ward, through his marriage to Sydney, daughter of William Wynn. Gruffith and Charles Kyffin of Cyffin and Cae Coch acquired several properties in Cywarch by mortgage and purchase. Sir William Williams, 2nd Bart., held property in Merioneth, probably through his marriage to Jane Thelwall in 1684; he purchased further lands in Cywarch, 1699-1701, from Evan Richard, son of Richard Griffith. Rhiwgoch was gained by the marriage of Henry Wynn of Gwydir to Catherine Lloyd in 1620; though the main part lay in Merioneth, this estate included lands in Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, Denbighshire. The main Glan-llyn estate near Bala had previously belonged to the Vaughan family and was acquired through the marriage of Sir Watkin Williams (Wynn), 3rd Bart. to Anne Vaughan in 1715. The Glan-llyn properties were leased by Anne Williams Wynn, in accordance with the will of her father, Edward Vaughan. Properties in Ardudwy had probably belonged to Gwydir before being incorporated into the Glan-llyn rentals.
